Launching in April and running through May, the 19th New York African Film Festival (NYAFF) will kick-off on April 5th with a special preview of the festival’s program, as well as a live performance by DJ Spooky.   Described as “a two-month event that explores notions of home and homeland through films, live performances and panel discussions,”  the 2012 New York African Film Festival includes a screening of Mama Africa, a portrait of the illustrious artist and activist Miriam Makeba on April 11th, the film Relentless, which stars Nneka on April 13th, and more.
