In Harlem, The Red Rooster and Ginny’s Supper Club will be celebrating with a day that starts with televising the inauguration and following events live from Washington DC on Monday morning starting at 11:00 am.   Come nightfall, the joint will be jumpin’ with an evening  of cocktails, dinner and entertainment featuring a performance by the fantastic finalist from “The Voice”,  Amanda Brown. King Day at Ginny’s is said to be a community celebration with free admission, but you’ll want to reserve ahead if you plan on dining.

Ginny’s Supper Club is located  between 125th and 126th street and Lenox Avenue, underneath Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster restaurant.

President Obama gave a great speech at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial dedication, which can be viewed in the video below.  Monday January 16 is the official MLK Day of Service.

President Obama said, “For this day, we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s return to the National Mall.
