If you did not catch it yet, watch this full video of Beyoncé Knowles singing the National Anthem accompanied by the U.S. Marine Band at the 2013 Inauguration of President Barack Obama. She was absolutely radiant! Reports are that she was lip-syncing, but after watching this video several times I believe she was actually singing along WITH the vocal track. I guess she wanted to play it safe.

The best views will be west side between 20th and 55th Streets. I would have thought the new pier on 125th would have made the grade as well, but it appears not. For thos that attend the show, we’d love to know your thoughts on that viewing location. In the meantime this year’s show is “Gift of Freedom” including a special tribute to the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Expect 40,000+ fireworks synchronized to a 25-minute musical performances. Performers will include Beyonce and Nick Lachey. The best viewing locations (besides TV) will be on Manhattan’s west side between 20th and 55th streets. The 25 min. show starts at 9 p.m. Macy’s recommends staking out spots from 5 p.m. Two top viewing locations for Harlemites include the following:

Twelfth Avenue and the West Side Highway. At 6 p.m. Twelfth Avenue and the northbound lanes of the West Side Highway from 23rd to 59th Streets will turn into a giant block party for the nation’s birthday bash. Access points will be at the following streets: 24th, 26th to 30th, 34th, 40th to 44th, 47th to 52nd, and 54th to 57th.

Hudson River Park at Pier 54 and Pier 84. These piers jut out into the Hudson River and promise phenomenal views. Pier 54, located on West Street and 13th Street, will have limited access from 14th Street, according to Macy’s website. The Pier 84 dock is located between West 44th and West 43rd streets in Midtown West. Limited access will be available at 44th Street.
