During the month of December, the critically-acclaimed musical SOUL NATIVITY returns to Harlem School of the Arts, featuring song, dance, and comedy in a presentation that explores the story of the Nativity through a modern interpretation. The show is conceived and directed by HSA’s Artistic Director Alfred Preisser and choreographed by renowned Theatre artist Otis Sallid, and includes guest performances by The Harlem Japanese Gospel Choir and Voices of the Flame. Expect an exciting musical score is infused with Gospel, R&B, Pop, and Rock.

“SOUL NATIVITY is a really special show, and I feel like everyone that has participated in in through the years, both uptown and downtown, have invented this version. I also feel like this theatre here on St. Nicholas Avenue is its best and true home, states HSA’s Artistic Director Alfred Preisser. “Since we always consider it as happening “today” it always feels new and connected to what’s happening in the world at this very moment; since we’re telling a beloved and iconic story, it feels both timeless and familiar. It’s an homage to hope and joy, and obviously our world needs as much of that as we can possibly muster.”
