New Harlem Condominium going up – 240 Manhattan Avenue at 110th Street

240 Manhattan Avenue in HarlemHarlemCondoLife.com is reporting that construction on the new condominium 240 Manhattan Avenue at 110th Street is well under way, as you’ll notice in this photo. The image below that shows a rendering of what the building will look like and according to the owner/developer 110 Manhattan Ave Equities LLC., the 22 story condo is scheduled to be completed by January, 2014.

One thing we know for sure is that 240 Manhattan Avenue will definitely offer residents spectacular views of Central Park and Morningside Park. It also looks like it will liven up that corner with some new retail space as well.

Welcome to the East Side-ization of our neighborhood, where architectural scale and context have no bearing on design considerations. Great for the residents’ views and the the developers’ wallets, but a light and view-blocking edifice for everyone else.

Good point, thanks for the comment. If you look all the way across 110st and Central Park North, you’ll notice that there already a few highrise buildings in the area, so this is not new.

What another eye sore for the residents. This monster building is in no way a representation of Harlem architecture. It’s just another place for the wealthy, no matter what anyone says. It will totally block sunlight to buildings on 111th. I have been living here for over 15 years. It irks me when people say what a great neighborhood I live in. It always was. I find it less so now with all this development.
