El Barrio Week is on in East Harlem
The 2nd Annual El Barrio Week starts today June 1st, and will continue through June 16th with events that celebrate this diverse neighborhood in East Harlem. The goal is to promote El Barrio’s small business and arts/cultural offerings with cultural events and programs that focus on the rich Latin American, Puerto Rican, and Caribbean cultural heritage and people in Spanish harlem.
Participating businesses and restaurants were brought together by the “Visit El Barrio” organization, resulting in an El Barrio Week packed with events, and themes like “El Barrio Eats!” and “Shop El Barrio!” in a campaign to promote the area and bring in more visitors.
