Skating with the Stars Gala for “Figure Skating in Harlem”

Figure Skating in Harlem

The Skating with the Stars Gala is set to celebrate “Figure Skating in Harlem” with an annual benefit that will bring out some of the world’s greatest ice skaters as well as celebrities, corporate and community leaders this Monday, April 2nd from 5:30pm – 8:30pm at the Trump Wollman Rink in Central Park. The event is expected to attract New Yorkers with deep pockets who will participate in an auction of items to benefit the young girls of Figure Skating in Harlem.  Last year’s Skating with the Stars gala is said to have raised over six hundred thousand dollars for the organization, with over 600 guests in attendance. The video below has more about Figure Skating in Harlem and its excellent program for girls.

FIGURE SKATING IN HARLEM (FSH) is a pioneering youth development organization established in 1997 to transform young lives and help under-served girls grow in confidence, leadership and academic achievement. Our innovative fitness and academics program supports success in school, promotes physical health, builds character and discourages high-risk behaviors. We link lessons learned on the ice – focus, determination, artistic expression and self motivation – to lessons in the classroom and life. Proceeds from this benefit will help FSH grow stronger, deeper and serve more young women than ever before.
