Sundae Sermon brings its Dance Music Party to El Museo Del Barrio
Dj Stormin’ Norman is bringing his stompin’ House Music party Sundae Sermon to Harlem’s El Museo Del Barrio, with the first event scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 26, from 3pm – 7pm. For those who don’t know, Sundae Sermon is a free afternoon dance party that runs throughout the summer in Harlem’s Morningside Park from June through September. The outdoor event brings out dance music lovers, adults and youngsters, who get down to the disco classics, funk and soul, deep house, and Latin and Afro dance beats of invited DJs under the sun filled skies.
It’s great to see that Sundae Sermon has found a home for Winter/Spring 2012, so put it on your calendar and get your soulful injection of music, art and dance. The kick off event will celebrate Black History month, with live painting by artists on stage and face painting for the kids. Also on hand will be the GET DOWN Campaign, which is an educational multimedia HIV/AIDS awareness campaign for youth produced by Lionqueen192 Productions, Inc., and its partner A-Marketing. The organizations will be there to help with Aids Walk fundraising for FACES NY and Harlem United, who will accept donations on-site and offer private HIV testing. We’ll see you at the Sundae Sermon Dance Party in El Museo del Barrio, 1230 5th Avenue (104st) on Sunday, February 26th. Admission is Free.
